A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US

Hey, and a big hello from us, here at Pet Comforts Hotel!

So glad you popped by, feel free to explore. Should you have any questions that we haven’t answered here please feel free to pop over to our message facility on Facebook.

We are a husband and wife team, running a family business around our passion, which as you may have guessed. Is caring for your dogs, and pets ( no matter the size.. well OK, maybe a little).

We’re a fun pair of hoomans…. Pete loves his football, motor bikes, cars and anything that can go fast, and I love walks and dogs, and animals of all kinds. I’ve always had dogs, and have found they have centred me through milestones and losses of those of love. I understand the deep attachment to our beloved pets. In fact, lets be truthful.. they are so much more than that, they are part of our family, if only for a short time. They teach us many things, with their unconditional love, their quirky habits and personality. What would we do without them?

OUR ROLES WITHIN PET COMFORTS HOTEL

PETER

Helps with the larger background admin, social media, website and business needs, when I’m to busy with the best bits!! lol Along with walks and general and most needs cuddles.

LISA

I mainly take care of all the practical needs of the Dogs, with support from peter when we have more than 4 paws at a time. Basically I’m the professional huger of all the dogs, with lots of strokes and reassurance while your away.

ASSURANCES

Our main aim is to ensure, that your beloved dog or small pet is loved. Even though they will miss you deeply, we can be with them helping calm and distract them.

We do help your dogs pick up our own training and behaviour techniques, which help calm and add structure while they stay with us.

You may have noticed the words “Dog grooming visit” with some of our packages. If you have a dog groomer you like, we can help assist you by taking your dog to the groomers, so they have their pamper session while your away, and ready for your return.

All in all we our governed by your requests, as you have set routines as to how you look after your pet. However, we do have set feeding times, that we believe with our own knowledge and experience to benefit all dogs equally. This helps us regulate their toileting especially when they are in a unfamiliar place, and not fully understanding where or how they should go to the toilet. These set times help us work with your pet much more smoothly. If you have an queries on this please feel free to contact us.

A letter from Lisa…

Since I can remember, my love for animals has been at the top of my list – and every day that love grows.

Not just for dogs, but for all animals.

It mainly started when I was a little girl when my Mom and I used to visit a friend of hers.

My Moms friend told her of a stray dog that visited her daily, but she explained she couldn’t continue to care for him as she wasn’t well and had to move.

Straight away I BEGGED my Mom – as kids do… Can I have him Mom? PLEASE????? – but at this point we hadn’t even met or seen this dog. So my Mom agreed with her friend that for a few weeks, every day I would go to her friend’s house to feed this stray and get to know him.

You can only imagine the excitement I felt! So it began, I went to her house and fed this ‘mutt’ (as my Mom’s friend called him) and he was my world!

He was a medium size cross-breed with a scruffy red coat, who I named Rex – and that’s where my love began… and has never stopped!!

That kind-hearted ‘mutt’ taught me what a best friend was and not a day goes by that I don’t think about him and miss him dearly.

So I truly understand that uneasy feeling you can get at the thought of leaving your beloved pets in a stranger’s care.

The love and care I provide and expect for your pets, is the same love and care I would expect for my own.

Your canine friend is our special guest!

I offer a no-obligation consultation – either at your home or mine. We can discuss any requirements your pet needs ie special diets/medication, if your dog likes a light/radio/tv on and also to go through your daily routine – which I will do my upmost to keep to.

I believe that patience, calmness, time and excellent skills are the key to a happy dog boarding experience for your pooch!

I try to make your dog’s stay as home-like as possible; reducing their anxiety and stress and giving you more peace of mind!

At home, my garage has been converted to provide the best accommodation for your dogs stay. It has a sofa, tv and radio that we can cuddle up and enjoy together; with heating and lights that can be dimmed for when your pet is tired and resting.

I also have a rear large garden where your pet can exercise at their own leisure. They will also be taken on daily walks – if their health allows it.

All feed times, treats, medication and other requirements will be logged daily. Any discussed times will be kept and recorded  also.

While you are away, I can also arrange for a groomer to come to my home and groom your dog to your requirements.

If your pet has any behavioural issues you feel you need support or advice with, I can put you in touch with a behavioural specialist consultant.

I have many years experience with all breeds of dogs – big and small – and none of them faze me in any way!

I have studied the background of dogs and understand their nature and certain behaviours. I am planning to go on a Walking with Wolves experience with the UK Wolf Conservation Trust – this is something I have ALWAYS dreamed about doing – to learn more about wolves/dogs and their nature and background and also just be close to these fantastic creatures!!

When I have been on a Walking with Wolves experience, I will post about my adventure and experiences on my blog.

Please feel free to get in touch by email, phone or on the Petcomforts Hotel Facebook Page!

I’d love to hear from you and your canine friends!
